I was you once and yeah, the smackdown situation is little better but still awful in some places. I just can't bring myself to watch either show now and only catch the big PPV events. They had a great opportunity to do some dream matches with AJ Styles as champion, but he gets Cena again? Fuck that shit. And Owens has been booked terribly as Universal Champion too.
you were never Gumble. Not good enough.

Re: Might be making that jump to NJPW
NJPW does an hour long so every Friday on AXS TV. They basically show you the best matches. It's awesome. I agree that the product in NJPW is better than the WWE product, but a big part of that is that I only see 1 hour of NJPW versus 5 hours of WWE each week. I'm sure if I watched 5 hours of NJPW I'd get sick of it as well. I'd love one hour versions of Raw and Smackdown that just played the 2-3 best matches. I don't need to hear Stephanie drone on and on.
If you haven't seen this yet, get yourself a beer or a joint and settle in for something amazing.

Re: Might be making that jump to NJPW
Eh i kind of have a love and hate relationship with NJPW, here are some notes from a active viewer
If your not a fan of multi-man tag matches your not gonna have a good time, most of the storyline building happens in these matches but as wrestling is treated as a real sport most of the time over there so most of the non-main event (and some main event storylines are a basic style like this:
"I want ur belt"
"Fite me at the PPV then m8"
or sometimes they just do tournaments to get contenders, rematch clauses, etc.
However when NJPW is good is really fucking good but when it's not it can be ehh not great.
You can for the most part get around with just watching the PPVs and reading up on past events (This is what i do sometimes if i hear a match was good i'll check out the road to's) If you don't mind commentary i recommend Japanese commentary or as Dull has said the weekly AXS show with JR on it as to be blunt the current english commentary team for the odd PPVs with English comm in my opinion is the drizzling shits and they aren't there for every PPV unlike with the weekly show.
Other then that take a shot at it and see if ya like it, i always recommend NJPW to people looking for an alternative

Re: Might be making that jump to NJPW
I rarely watch a full episode of RAW or SmackDown and just keep up to date with everything else through WWE's & other wrestling news pages on Facebook & Twitter. 7 hours (RAW, SmackDown! NXT & 205) a week is just way too much to sit through, and that's not even including all the other stuff they have on the Network and YouTube, its literally like they want you to watch nothing BUT WWE, which you'd have to be fucking insane to do with the current product and how awful most of their "Original Content" is.

CMV is better than WWE. But then again, it really isn't that hard to book your shows better than they do.

Re: Might be making that jump to NJPW
NJPW is what TNA/ROH/Lucha Underground were when they were IWC favs. "WWE sucks, watch *insert promotion* instead! This is real wrestling!" Pretty much any company that has any sort of TV/iPPV deal has great matches that, when digested in small doses can lead you to think the promotion is incredible. Pretty much after every WK (especially the last few years with Devitt, Styles, and Omega) the IWC raves about how great NJPW is and how the product is superior to WWE. The grand majority of those saying so don't watch it all the time and are only hopping on the Biggest Show of the Year bandwagon.
TL;DR, NJPW sucks, watch Dragon Gate instead, that's real wrestling.
