To Be a Champion (CMV.com exclusive!)
To be a champion, means having a target on your back at all times, something that was very evident on edition number seventy-three of Thursday night Genesis. Towards the top of the show, whilst he was preparing for his main event match-up against Kayden Kyrna later on in the evening, the CMV Alpha World champion, Bob Luger, was approached by the voice of The Barbarian, Paul Heyman, who was clearly out to try and get in the head of The Work Ethic Titan. Luger is set to defend his title against Bison next Sunday at Regicide, and Heyman just wanted to reiterate what he said to Bobby last week, that Bison merely sees Luger as a means to an end, the man who's only keeping the championship warm for him and that even though The Beast will tear The Cardio Maniac limb from limb if he has to, it won't be personal. Luger didn't seemed phased by Paul's words though, standing tall with HIS belt draped over his shoulder, watching on as Heyman sauntered off down the hall.
What a month it has been for Kaiva, just as things were looking down for the Latvian, going on a pretty mean losing streak the few months prior, he managed to qualify for the Elimination Chamber at Dark Carnival and then shocked the entire CMV universe by actually capturing the gold inside of the Demon's Domain. But now that he's atop the mountain, those beneath him are hungry to see his dreams come to an end sooner rather than later, this was evident after Kaiva's narrow victory over El Jefe on Genesis, when the CMV International champion would be payed a visit from Big Duke Briggs, who played some mind games with Kaiva at first, shutting down the arena's lights, and then striking with a vicious chokeslam that surely came straight from hell. And that was far from the end of the carnage, as Duke would proceed to grab a steel chair from ringside, getting off one hell of a shot to the champ's spine, and just as he was about to deliver another- Andrew Briggs would come to the rescue, fighting off his brother and taking him to the outside where he would lay-down one hell of an ass-whooping on his now arch-rival. But the former Light Heavyweight champion wanted to make sure that his intentions towards the International title were still loud and clear, as he slid back into the ring, steel chair in hand and was just about to make Kaiva taste the sting of it once more- when Jon Reed would swoop in, driving Andrew off before whacking the Latvian right in the back with the unforgiving weapon of pain and misery. The Fallen Angel isn't giving up his fight for the championship easily, sending a message to Kaiva, the CMV universe and Dave Turner as he laid the champ out with his own title, smacking him clean across the face with it, leaving the scene of the crime with his head held high. It has now been made official by Genesis general manager, Dave Turner, that next Thursday, just three days before Regicide, Duke Briggs, Andrew Briggs, and Jon Reed, will compete in a triple threat match with the winner facing Kaiva for the CMV International championship at the pay-per-view.
Following a hard-fought loss to the CMV Alpha World champion, Bob Luger, in the main event of Genesis number seventy-three, The BattleBeast, Kayden Kynra, was heading off to the back when he was caught off guard by none other than Salvi, who capitalized on the opportunity to poke some fun at Double K, mocking him, and saying that "it's a shame that boys like you are being given the main event opportunities that men like I deserve, and squandering them." The Masked Man of Mayhem then laughed to himself as he walked away, Kynra trying to not let those words get to him as he hit the showers.
