----- ----- ----- ----- -----
With just six days to go until we officially kickoff the road to Ascendance five with the fifth annual CMV Royal Rumble match at Absolution, tonight's show will be looking to get underway with some singles action when The Unique, Arthur Rose, tangles with The REAL #1 Bubba, Shanaz Andoni, for a bout that's sure to be anything but normal.
Six-man tag team action is the name of the game in this next one, when The Antagonist, Matt Devious, shackles up with Ares and Hades Cryst, The Old Gods, to do battle with The Assassin, Harvey Hastings, and The Bickering Duo of Tyson Cage and Suraci.
2018 was one hell of a year in the career of Chris Andrews, capping it all off by finally making it to the top of the mountain and capturing the CMV Undisputed championship at Home Coming. And he managed to do it with bruised ribs, defying the doctors advise to sit at home and heal up, The Bloody Brit grinded his teeth and got the job done. But now, it seems as if his injury is catching up to him, being dominated by Sean Kent last week, hardly able to defend himself at all. A break ain't coming his way any time soon either, especially now with his number one contender, Schmidty, in control of half of Monday night Fusion. So now Andrews must buckle up and work harder than he ever has before to not only make it passed Azreal here tonight, but Schmidty this Sunday at Absolution.
Two of the favorites to win last week's ten-man battle royal to crown a new number one contender for the Undisputed championship, Xander Slate and Rhys Matthews, both weren't able to secure the victory. But they have both declared themselves as a part of this Sunday's Royal Rumble match, a chance to headline the grandest stage of them all up for grabs. Tonight, they look for they all-important momentum heading into such an event, for the first time ever The OG Dirty Heel will go one on one with The Exception!
You may not be a fan of Paul Divine, but you have got to appreciate his cleverness. After losing to Brody Sampson at Home Coming and then again being unable to find victory in last week's number one contender's battle royal, all hope of The Asian Sensation getting another crack at the CMV Undisputed title and main eventing Ascendance was virtually gone. That is, until he took a trip down to NGW, CMV's developmental brand, and under the name “Blue Mask” competed in their mini Royal Rumble, the winner of which would get a spot in the actual Rumble match this Sunday at Absolution, and wouldn't you know it, he snatched up the win! So now, with there being nothing that co-general manager, Johnny Sampson, can do about it, Divine gears up for this one last opportunity, where he'll have to outlast twenty-nine other superstars who are as equally as hungry as he is, and to prepare, tonight he goes toe to toe with the man who eliminated him from last week's battle royal, the CMV Anarchy champion, Troy Meyers!
There is a reason that Schmidty has been dubbed, The Thinking Man's Wrestler, once again managing to outsmart his father in-law, Johnny Sampson, last week, getting him to sign over half of Monday night Fusion to The Game Changer. We saw Schmidty use his new-found power to rig the number one contender's battle royal in his favor, effectively handing himself the win and now he's got a date with Chris Andrews set for this Sunday with the Undisputed World title on the line. But before he gets there, the new co-general manager of CMV's flagship show surprisingly has put himself into action here tonight, looking to silence Sean Kent who's been ranting and raving since his victory over The Brit last week that he should be the number one contender, Schmidty looking to show him otherwise . . .
Our main event tonight will be akin to two bulldozers crashing into one another, as on the orders of Monday night Fusion's brand new co-general manager, Schmidty, Bludgeon has been tasked with finally handing The Perfect Specimen, Travis King, his first loss since coming to CMV four months ago, locking these two tanks inside of a Steel Cage and throwing away the key!
