Numbers
The scene comes in to a black room with a television on a stand sitting in the middle. Ambient club music plays in the background, while the television displays nothing but white. We can hear footsteps echo in the background. Shay Hoxton slowly walks into frame from the side with his hands in his pockets. He wears black dress pants and shoes with a blue dress shirt. The Anarchy Championship is wrapped securely around his waist. He moves towards television, each step echoing louder and louder. Once there, he stops, back turned to the camera with on hand on placed on the TV.
Validation.
A slight echo comes from his words as well.
The biggest show in CMV history, topped off with the biggest match in CMV history. Four vs four, brand vs brand, legends vs legends.
Shay turns his head, and the camera zooms in, getting a closer look at his face.
On one side, you have the most dominant alliances in Fusion history: The Control. On the other, you have one of the greatest stables in CMV as a whole: The Kliq.
The scene flashes to quick videos of The Control standing in the ring together after Percy Simmons defeated Joey Diaz. The three men - Jamal Sadana, Cameron Kray, and Percy Simmons - put their fists together while Shay Hoxton leans back on a turnbuckle, staring daggers at Diaz’s body with a smirk on his face. The scene fades into a similar scenario, episode 152 of Genesis. We see The Kliq standing tall as a unit after their victory in a four man tag team match. The video pauses while The Kliq all have their arms raised, and the camera pans back to show this scene was playing on the TV. Shay Hoxtons stands behind the TV, one hand on each side.
Only a fool would write The Kliq off, and only a fool would consider this an easy fight. Countless of Championship reigns...
We cut to a flash of Xander Slate’s career, his first Undisputed Champion win against Kevin Owens.
Countless accomplishments…
The scene changes to Randy Borton standing on the arena stage, holding a trophy high above his head: Superstar of the Year.
Countless victories…
The scene changes once more, this time to a compilation of Bob Luger’s hardest hitting moves in his match against Bison at CMV Regicide. It ends with Bob Luger getting his hand raised in victory, the Alpha World Championship in the other. While this image takes up the whole screen, we can see a close up of Shay’s waist walk in front of it, stop, and swivel towards the camera. The scene pans out to show Hoxton standing in front of the television.
It’s nothing less than a fact that The Kliq is one of the greatest combinations in CMV history…
Shay jerks his hand up with two fingers in the air.
Nix that! One of the greatest combination in wrestling history!
He jerks his hand back to the side just as quickly as he raised it.
All you have to do is look at the numbers… The truth is more than obvious.
Shay turns again and walks slowly to the side of the television.
But those aren’t the only numbers we have…
The camera cuts to a zoomed in image of the television stand. We see Shay’s fist slam down a lock on the stand.
Zero.
We cut to a compilation of Jamal Sadana brutalizing his opponents.
The amount of times Jamal Sadana has lost.
With the compilation still playing, now showing Sadana hitting his Dominator, the camera pans out and we see another lock being slammed on the stand.
Zero.
We go back to a full screen compilation, starting with Jamal tossing Brian Jacobson to Cameron Kray. We see Kray in a multitude of scenes, twisting arms, kicking men in their shoulders while they’re down, and choking people out with the Bottom of the Thames.
The amount of times Cameron Kray has lost outside of his own allies.
We see Kray’s most impressive victory yet, as the scene changes to Kray spiking the unbeatable TZ Mass with a Package Piledriver. The ref counts down, one, two three. As he celebrates, the camera pans out, and another lock is placed.
Zero.
We see Kray standing next to Tyson Cage, who is forearmed in the back of the head and hit with a The 21. We keep seeing many men flash on screen, Joey Diaz, Jacob Diaz, Kris Sullivan, all being stuck with the Gambler’s devastating move.
The amount of times Shay Hoxton has lost.
We see Hoxton grabbing Tyson Cage by the throat, shoving him to the ground. The bell rings, and We cut to Murphy holding Shay’s hand in victory with the CMV Anarchy Champion draped on his shoulder. The camera pans out again, allowing another lock to be slammed down.
Zero.
We hard cut to a scene of Joey Diaz leaning against a concrete wall backstage, texting on his phone. Out of nowhere, Jamal Sadana body checks him into the wall, and Kray and Percy Simmons run in. The three men beat Diaz down to the ground, stomping on him with no remorse.
The amount of times The Control has lost as a unit.
We cut to The Control out-wrestling the BOV and Kris Sullivan, looking once more Kray hitting TZ Mass with the Package Piledriver. We cut forward to all three men holding their fists together. The scene focuses on this image, before cutting one final time to Shay Hoxton sitting on the stand in front of the television. Two locks sit to his left, two locks to his right.
The Kliq, one of the greatest combinations in wrestling history, but no matter how you look at it, the numbers don’t lie, and they open us up to one more statistic…
Shay stand up and places one final lock in between the other four.
Zero. The chances The Kliq have of defeating The Control at Validation. It doesn’t matter how many championships you’ve won, it doesn’t matter how many accomplishments you’ve had, it doesn’t matter how many victories you’ve had. The Kliq is damn good-
Shay shoots his hand up.
Nix that, damn great! But, it doesn’t matter how great you are, when you step toe to toe with true perfection, you’re destined to become just another statistic.
The camera slowly zooms in to Shay Hoxton’s devilish smirk. As it moves closer and closer, the scene fades to black.
