The NXT Glammy Awards

The nominations will be posted after NXT Showdown, and the awards will be given out after the following Pay Per View. To vote, you do the same as with the Main Rosters Glammies, by sending me a PM of your picks.

The Awards

Match of the Year

The award for the best match of the year, the nominations are all considered to be five star matches, however, due to the fact there has been more than four, it has been a combination of importance and match quality that has defined these four nominations.

Nominations

JustIN Sane Vs Ryan Kent (NXT Slammiversary, episode 15)

What a match this was, the Main Event of the biggest Pay Per View of the year, with the NXT Championship on the line, Ryan Kent looked to make his first title defence against the former champion, JustIN Sane, who went on to become a two time NXT Champion in a match that was full of close calls and some high spots, such as a moonsault from the the top of a ladder from Ryan Kent.

Chris Adams Vs Boso The Magnificent (Episode 26)

This match was the decider of who would face Bryan Novak for the NXT European Championship match at NXT Containment. It was to be settled under extreme rules, and would turn out to be a five star match. Both men got busted open as the match turned out to be an all out brawl on the outside with Adams' head bouncing off the steel steps numerous times.

Brett Angel Vs Kryminal (Episode 31)

Brett Angel's NXT debut in which he gained the reputation of putting on five star matches. Angel kicked out of three finishers from Kryminal, to whom was unable to get into the pin quick enough after each finisher, and went on to win the match via the Gods last Gift, cementing himself as a five star guy.

Jaymes Landon Vain Vs Ace Stephens (Episode 28)

This match had the best finish of the year, and it elevated JLV's status as it was his first big win, pinning a former intercontinental and hardcore champion from the main roster. This match was full of finishers which led to an exciting bout, but the finish was completely out of nowhere as Ace Stephens went to hit his springboard knee, but was reversed into a Tombstone Piledriver from JLV.

Face of the Year

The award that goes to the best good guy of the year, the guy who was the most over and who was the most successful as a face.

Nominations

Ryan Kent

One of the first targets of the NXT General Manager Kane, turned his career around inside the Elimination Chamber at NXT Unchained when he pinned four out of the five men inside the chamber to become NXT Champion, he went on to feud with The Authority and beat Kane twice in singles action before moving to the Main Roster as the first guy to be called up.

Richard Thunder

Richard Thunder was one of the first men to join Ryan Kent on his crusade and was the man who elimination all three members of The Authority inside the six man elimination tag match at NXT Showdown. Over the past few months he has overcame every Superstar that Kane has thrown at him.

Brett Angel

Possibly the most over guy in NXT history, the former pro-boxer won the hearts of the NXT Universe with his story of tragedy, he had a quick rise in NXT as a man known to put on five star matches. It only took him two months to win his first title, the NXT Television Championship, and while he only held it for three days, it's a positive sign for Angel.

Eric Matthews

A two time NXT Champion, it is the ultimate comeback story for Matthews, after failing to qualify for the NXT Championship Elimination Chamber he started to fade into obscurity, however, when he finally got his chance, he took it and became NXT Champion, it only lasted for a few minutes, but he was able to win it back just two months later and stay on top of The World.

Heel of the Year

The award that goes to the best bad guy of the year, the guy who was the most menacing and who was the most successful as a heel.

Nominations

Kane

The NXT General Manager has been tormenting people ever since the very start of NXT, initially firing Thomas Sullivan and then kicking at the heels of Ryan Kent and Bryan Novak, not a day goes by where the big red monster is terrorising the NXT roster.

JustIN Sane

Kane's top guy for the most part of the year, before he was turned on by Kane, he was an incredibly dominant heel, and went on to dominate the NXT Championship scene for a good three months before dropping it to his long time rival Eric Matthews.

Casey Reyes

Kane's right hand man ever since the start of NXT, he's been out to do Kane's bidding, he was the reason that Kendra got fired from NXT and he's been doing a solid job as Kane's right hand man for the good part of the year.

Boso The Magnificent

A clown who goes around slapping people and pieing them in the face, for the first part of the year, Boso was a face, twas a six man Battle Royal that turned on his dark side, where he attacked everyone involved in the match after they were eliminated, hitting Chris Adams with several Chair shots.

Feud of the Year

The award for the best rivalry of the year, which is graded on how well it played out and the length of the rivalry.

Nominations

The Authority Vs The NXT Roster

A feud that start way back leading into NXT unchained when Kane started to target Thomas Sullivan and other memebers of the NXT Roster, many guys have been involved in this feud and it still goes on today. Kane is not done picking in the roster just yet.

The R 'n' L Express Vs The Ascension

A feud that went on for a good two months when Rick and Larry were viscously attacked by The Ascension which led to Rick being out of action for a solid month. Larry had to deal with The Ascension on his own while Rick was resting up, but when Rick returned they put down The Ascension for good.

Eric Matthews Vs JustIN Sane

A feud that started with jealousy when Eric Matthews attacked Justin Sane in the fallout of NXT Takeover and constantly tried to force his way into the title picture. However, despite this hatred, the feud ended with respect as both men had a common enemy in the form of Kane, and so they both put aside their differences.

The United Kingdom Vs Wesson & Smith

A feud which occurred in the Fallout of NXT Takeover leading all the way into NXT Slammiversary in which Wesson and Smith put Richard Franko out of action for two weeks after sending him through a vending machine. The United Kingdom lost the tag titles as Franko wasn't medically cleared. But they cashed in their rematch clauses three days later in the fallout and had kept them ever since.

Tag Team of the Year

The award goes to whoever The NXT Universe believed the best Tag Team of the Year was in NXT.

Nominations

The United Kingdom

Former Two Time NXT Tag Champions. The longest reigning Tag Team Champions in history holding the NXT Tag Team title for 5 months and three weeks before dropping them to The Patriots at NXT Climb 2 Fame, they are now split up due to the animosity but there's no doubting their dominance as a Tag Team.

Wesson & Smith

David Wesson and Adrian Smith won the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Unchained but failed to keep them for more than three days as the United Kingdom would cash in their rematch clause. They failed to regain the titles at Slammiversary despite a solid showing.

The R 'n' L Express

The first Tag Team from NXT to make the shift to the Main Roster, they've had various shots at the NXT Tag Team Championships but were unsuccessful despite putting on some strong showings. They had one of the more memorable storylines with The Ascension in the early parts of this year.

The Patriots

The current NXT Tag Team Champions, the team to dethrone The United Kingdom, there isn't much to say on The Patriots, other than the fact that Swagger has really helped Miller shine.

Superstar of the Year

The award goes to the most over and successful Superstar of the year.

Nominations

Ryan Kent

He played a large part in the Main Event storylines earlier on in the year and was the first NXT Superstar to make the switch to the Main Roster, he's a former NXT Champion, he Main Evented NXT Slammiversary and beat Kane twice.

JustIN Sane

This man has been at the forefront of NXT for the better half of a year, winning two NXT Championships and being involved in a huge storyline with Kane. He made his Main Roster debut at Wrestlemania after taking out Bison and is a former two time NXT Champion.

American Justice

Arguably the most dominant Superstar in NXT history, only losing to three different men across the course of the year, he has one of the most successful win/loss records on the roster, next year could be his year at the top of the mountain.

Brett Angel

Speaking of men with good records, Brett Angel hasn't been wrestling for long, however he's already put on many match of the year worthy matches and has won a singles title. He can surely only improve and could be the face of the company one day.

Champion of the Year

The award that goes to the most successful Champion over the course of the year.

Nominations

Bryan Novak

A two time European Champion and the longest reigning singles Champion in Communiverse History.

JustIN Sane

Two time NXT Champion, he Main Evented NXT Slammiversary and is the longest reigning NXT Champion to date.

The United Kingdom

Two time NXT Tag Team Champions, and the longest reigning NXT Tag Team Champions in history.

Son of Sheik

Mr. Money in the Bank and a two time NXT Champion.

OMG Moment of the Year

The award that goes to the most unexpected or weird moment of the year. Bortons record doesn't qualify, because we all expected that.

Nominations

Son of Sheik winning something

Son of Sheik came down from the Main Roster without a single win to his name, and he kept on like that for a few months, then he somehow won Money in the Bank and two NXT Championships.

Ryan Kent pinning four out of five men in the Chamber

Ryan Kent probably wasn't many peoples picks going into the Chamber, but he ended up pinning every man inside the chamber other than Kevin Payne becoming the NXT Champion.

Dallas Space pinning American Justice

American Justice has been dominant throughout NXT and still is today, however, the world was shocked when Dallas Space picked up the upset and got the pin over American Justice, not once, but twice.

Jaymes Landon Vain running into the steel steps.

There isn't much to say to this. Eric Matthews left the ring, thinking JLV wasn't worth his time, this upset JLV causing him to lose his mind and run into the steel steps. He still won the match though. The mind games worked.

Finisher of the Year

The award that goes to the most effective and most extravagant finisher putting away the most superstars.

Nominations

Landing Clash

Ryan Kents finisher put away a lot of guys over the past year, as Kane constantly kept throwing superstars at Kent in order to stop his momentum. But Kane put them all down for the three count. Only a few men have kicked out of the Landing Clash.

The Torture Rack

The most deadly submission hold in NXT history is owned by the most dominant Superstar, American Justice, no more than three men have broken out of this menacing submission hold leaving it as one of the most devastating.

Flipping off the Neighbours

When Jaymes Landon Vain flips off the neighbours, it's quitting time. This finisher is what led to him being un-pinned for over two months after making his NXT debut, and even to this day, it is very deadly. No man has broken out of this move on his own.

TKO

The finisher of the Two time NXT Champion Eric Matthews has put away many a man here on NXT and won him both of his NXT Championships. The only downside to this move, is that he doesn't always get to the pin, but if he does, it's game over.

Gone But Not Forgotten Award

This award goes to the Superstar who the NXT Universe misses the most, it only applies to people from NXT who are no longer in Communiverse.

Nominations

Kevin Payne

A former NXT Tag Team Champion on the original NXT had his career ended early at the hands of American Justice inside the Elimination Chamber at NXT Unchained.

Thomas Sullivan

The man with all the money had a good start in NXT, but it came to an abrupt end at the hands of Kane who fired him as his first act of maintaining dominance over the NXT Roster.

Walker Bolek

This man failed to make it past the first NXT Pay Per View before he went missing. He had a nice short term feud with Thomas Sullivan before riding the rails.

TJ Kendra

The man who had the biggest impact on this list, stealing Ryan Kents NXT Championship and holding it until NXT Arrival, where he lost it and his career.
