Betrayed

It's mere moments after the returning Duo Maxwell has laid waste to The Bollywood Boy, Salim Ismail, on Friday night Genesis episode eighty-five. It was a grueling match-up to say the least, Duo's first singles encounter in over seven months, but he clearly hasn't missed a beat as he towers over his downed prey. The God of Death is panting heavily, sweat pouring out from underneath his mask as he along with everyone else in the arena is suddenly brought to attention. A haunting, hearty laugh infects the arena, the lights dimming down just a bit, Duo turning to face the stage as that seems to be where the games are coming from. Up on the titantron, standing in front of a mossy, faded brick wall is The Beast, Bison, though we can't see his lips moving, he is indeed the source of the laughter. The fans allow a steady chorus of boos to be sent his way, where ever it is that he is sending this message from, some of them are smart enough to understand what is happening already, but others are still left in the dark. Bison brings his laughing to an irrupt end, in the ring Maxwell clutches on with both hands to the top rope, peering up at the tron while slowly shaking his head from side to side.

Bison
Oh, Duo . . . So you're back then, great. I thought that I had finished you for good.

Those boos from before are amplified tenfold with this earth-shattering reveal, Duo is enraged in the ring, kicking the bottom rope and grabbing onto his mask with a hand on either side.

Bison
It wasn't personal, what I did to you, Duo, truly. You were just in my way. And when something is in my way, my first instinct is to DESTROY it!

Maxwell, after screaming for one, is brought a microphone hastily. With some fans still unsure of what's going on, Duo cares to explain whilst still breathing heavily.

GoD
I was in your way!? - - We were the Tag Team champions, - - we were brothers!

Again, The Barbarian laughs.

Bison
No, we weren't. And I didn't join CMV four years ago to make friends, I came here to become a World champion!

Maxwell scoffs.

GoD
So you did what you did to get me out of the way, cost us the Tag Team titles - - cost ME seven months of my career - - and for what? Because if I'm right, you STILL ain't been World champ!

That gets a OOOOOOHHHHHH from the crowd, Bison looking pretty miffed from that comment, it got under his skin and you can tell, he starts to shake but stops quickly, cracking his neck from side to side.

Bison
I didn't mean to put you out for seven months, Duo . . . I meant to put you down FOR GOOD! But you're stubborn, and when I saw you come back in the Rumble match this past Sunday, I knew that my job wasn't finished, so I eliminated you, hoping that'd be enough to drive you away for good, I didn't want to have to do this.

Maxwell gestures for Bison to bring it on, to meet him in the ring so that they can settle this right here and right now! This prompts The Beast to exhale, another laugh escapes him, but quieter this time, not so boastful, almost pitiful . . .

Bison
You never were the smart one, Duo, just like all of those idiots in the CMV universe who thought that RISE were behind your attack . . . I'll end you on my terms but make no mistake about it, I WILL end you . . .

The tron fizzes out and Bison is gone from sight, leaving Duo alone in the ring, he sinks his head, his mic slipping from his grasp and hitting the canvas with a thud. The fans try to support him but he isn't interested in listening, exiting the ring and heading up the ramp and to the back, Genesis fading to commercial.
