Ken Donahue's Brush with Disaster

In the blink of an eye, The Gals are in the ring the moment the bell rings.

Oraiya hands Val a microphone while Leliana and Nucleo work together to hold Ken Donahue where Val can keep an eye on him. Val stands tall in the middle of the ring. Conversely, Toxiera huddles in the corner, as though he would disappear if he could just manage to make himself small enough.

The main

event.

The absolute balls on you to think you're worthy of this position, Donahue. Worthy to be here instead of the men and women who risk life and limb on YOUR behalf to make this a show worth watching. Through a toxic blend of your unbearable ego and unmitigated self-righteousness, you've decided to put yourself in this position. You've decided that your crusade needed a bigger spotlight.

You've decided that not enough people have suffered.

As Val speaks, a thick, green smoke envelops the ringside area, forcing Respawn and Young to wisely hop the barricade and continue watching side by side with the rest of the CMV Universe.

No one was afraid until you told them they should be. No one was in danger until you started this war--like a politician who sends children overseas to die for a cause they barely understand. You manipulated poor Joy Justice into becoming a minor inconvenience to me and gave her nothing in return for putting her career on the line.

Yet you call me the monster.

Val chuckles. Then her voice gets unsettlingly calm.

Oh, but I can be.

She reaches into her jacket and pulls out a mask. A hush falls over the crowd, helpless as they watch Val approach Donahue who is still being restrained by Nucleo and Leliana. Val kneels before the general manager of NGW and gently caresses his cheek. Outside, a figure, silhouetted by the smoke circles the ring.

Unlike you, I learn from my mistakes.

My biggest error thus far has been expecting someone who holds a position of power to have his actions driven by logic, not emotion. Perhaps some….retooling will fix that.

Val goes to place the mask on Donahue’s face prompting the figure to slide into the ring. It’s Ashley Rayne! She rips the mask out of Val’s hands, and the crowd suddenly begins to stir. Even Donahue is laughing now, despite his predicament, smiling as he watches Rayne hold the mask in her hands.

Without warning Rayne lunges

and puts the mask on Donahue’s face!

His muffled screams are haunting as the crowd falls dead silent. Even after Val pulls the mask off less than five seconds later, Donahue is still clawing at his face and gasping for air.

I can be.

But then you’d win.

With a jerk of the head, Val gives the order to Nucleo and Leliana to dispose of Donahue. The smoke clears just as they dump him outside of the ring. Respawn and Young take that as their cue to escort the GM out of harm’s way.

After all you’ve done, V-002 is still firmly under my spell. My experiment has already yielded exciting results, despite your interference. When it’s completed, you will thank me, because what I learn will save this company.
