It started with a demand.

It started with Bob Luger calling out the mysterious fellow who had taken a recent interest in his activities, and demanding he come out here so they could address things face to face.

What he got was a hell of a lot more than he bargained for.

He got his not-so-secret admirer, all right. But apparently this was a package deal. As Bob Luger stood in the ring, he watched as Mr. Slate sauntered onto the stage with that man to his left—an imposing figure with a menacing scowl on his face.

It took less than a second for Luger to understand what was happening, and in that second he was filled with a palpable fury.

Luger dropped his mic—there was only one way this chapter in his blood feud with Mr. Slate could be written, and Luger was ready to tackle this wrinkle in their rivalry head on.

Mr. Slate had other ideas, however. He needed to take this moment to gloat, to brag. To rub it in Luger’s deformed face (Mr. Slate’s words) how he was so easily able to pull one over on his old pal.

This ain’t no ordinary man, Mr. Slate proclaimed. This is the man who will wipe Luger off the face of this planet once and for all. This is the man who will put Luger back on the shelf, and this time it will be an injury so debilitating that Luger will barely function as a human being, much less be able to wrestle again.

Bram. Miller.

That was the man’s name. Bram Miller, a walking nightmare that Luger will never escape, will never wake up from. And Mr. Slate, in all his glory, was going to show Luger that he can give just as well as he can take. Luger WILL get that match against Miller—and it was pointless delaying Luger’s demise. That match will happen TONIGHT.

Mr. Slate laughed. Grab your tissues, he said. Get your cameras ready. This will be the very last night the fans will be able to watch Luger compete in a CMV ring. His career will end with Luger whimpering like the little bitch he is (Mr. Slate’s words).

Despite all that, Bob Luger stood defiant. He picked up his mic and was two sentences into a moving speech about how he would fight until his dying breath, before he was attacked from behind by Bloody Justice and Jared Leon.

Bob Luger was a multi-time champion. Bob Luger has main evented the biggest pay per views CMV has had. Bob Luger has overcome what some thought were insurmountable odds. But Bob Luger is just a man. And when a man is jumped from behind by two bloodthirsty assailants, there’s only so much he can do.

Still, Luger fought. For a second it looked as though he may even hit Leon with a Luger Landing before Bloody Justice intervened.

Just when it seemed it couldn’t get any worse, a thick fog surrounded the ring.

It felt as though the temperature plummeted when Tailcoat Val entered the ring. Bloody Justice and Jared Leon had Luger by the arms, and a boot behind each of Luger’s knees pinned him in place.

Val ran her fingers down Luger’s cheek while she scanned him with her eyes. Examining him.

She chillingly told Luger that there was a lot to be learned from him, and she was eager to get started. With a jerk of her head, Justice and Leon relinquished Luger into her possession. Subject: Zero peeled Luger off the mat and was about to carry him away when Slate’s voice stopped him.

That useless sack of trash (Mr. Slate’s words) was his to deal with.

Val looked disappointed, but ultimately acquiesced. Another jerk of her head and Luger was dropped.

Luger lay there on the mat, battered and bruised, uncomfortably close to his dying breath, pain radiating through every inch of his body.

It all started with a demand.
