Repeating History

Crossfire returned from it's commercial break to a shot of the medical station within the stadium, with Josh Wolf at the table with doctors looking over his left knee. It was rather noticeable back in the triple threat that Bloody Justice and Jacob Ziegler had attacked the knee often, but Wolf had managed to go through with the match well enough to endure the onslaught; despite Ziegler pinning him. The doctor held onto his calf and moved the leg gently, hoping to assess the situation.

Doctor

Give me a number between one and ten, how much does that hurt?

Josh Wolf

A four.

Doctor

How about when walking or standing on it?

Josh Wolf

Six and a half...

The doctor readjusted his glasses as he turned to review a piece of paper.

Doctor

X-Ray has come back with no fractures... I believe what happened is that you pulled your Patellar tendon, which reviewing the match...

He points to a camera which had a replay of the triple threat.

Doctor

Happened riiiiiiggght... Here!

He pauses at the moment in which Ziegler drove Josh's knee into his leg.

Doctor

I cannot recommend fighting in the match tonight, under the risk of further dam-!

Wolf had already gotten up and walked out the door, the Doctor rushing over to look down the hallway. He quickly went over to a radio and pressed the button.

Doctor

Get security to block entry to the locker room, now.

Wolf continued to storm down the hall, camera following closely behind. By the time he reached the locker room door, where he knew Ziegler was preparing for the night inside, it had already been blocked off by security forces with Ken Donahue standing in front of them.

Ken Donahue

Josh, let's calm down now.

For a moment in Wolf's eyes, he felt like he had been here before... A long long time ago... A memory faded into his vision.

Cass LaFave: Josh... Remember what I told you a few months back... About these kinds of situations?

She slowly stood up, kneeling down in front of an ashamed and exhausted Wolf.

Cass LaFave: You have been such a massive disappointment to me. A disappointment to Tim. To Elijah. To MLP. And to Vintage and Brit.....

The officers let him go, Wolf fell forward and landed with a cough of blood on Cass' shoe. She looked down, grabbing a napkin and wiping off the blood under Wolf's mouth.

Cass LaFave: And most importantly. Yourself.

The memory slowly faded out.

Wolf tightened his fist, glaring at Ken with a hint of what felt like an old, long-gone piece of his past. But in that fleeting second, Fenrir did not take over... There was no reason for him to come back now, no reason to ever take over again. The violence of Josh's mind faded and he let out a sigh.

Josh Wolf

I'm smart enough to not let history repeat, Ken. I just want one thing.

Ken Donahue

What is it?

Josh Wolf

Ziegler came back for the money, right? So why is he so hellbent on going for the gold that he'd injure a man?

Ken raised a brow and crossed his arms.

Ken Donahue

What are you looking for?

Josh Wolf

Simple. One-on-one.

Ken took a moment to contemplate and sighed softly, giving a little smirk.

Ken Donahue

Done. As long as you don't try to kill him tonight. Now go get a knee brace.
