Stupid Questions

We are found backstage in the premiere of Reality Wrestling for the new season of CMV, reputable CMV interviewer Mac Thompson, standing by with one of the newest members of the CMV and Genesis roster, Luke Swanson who looks to make his CMV debut tonight against some local talent.

Mac Thompson:
Welcome ladies and gentlemen, I know I'm happy to be back here for yet another season of CMV and I have a very special guest at this time, the CMV newcomer, the Superstar of the Independent Scene, Compton's own Luke Swanson.

The camera zooms out a tad to see Luke gazing at the floor stroking his chin as Mac Thompson continues on.

Mac Thompson:
So Luke, welcome, to CMV, your first official match is tonight. Are you looking forward to showing the CMV Universe, those who may not follow the independent scene as much, just how good you are?

Luke continues playing with his chin for a brief moment before finally looking up to the camera, darting his eyes across to Mac and then back to the floor.

Luke Swanson:
Do you uh, umm, do you fuckin' learn anything, you know? I uhh, I said at the uh, the press reveal thingy, that that was a stupid question. I don't like stupid fuckin' questions... Because then I end up.. Uh.. Giving out a stupid answer. I don't... I don't want to see myself looking like a fuckin' idiot on live TV, you know. Because then I'm gonna get all fuckin' stressed. Like, is this urm, is this the amateur hour, what is this. Who uh, who's coming up with these questions.

Mac Thompson:
Well Luke, I apologize for brin-

Luke Swanson:
It was you at the press reveal, asking me all these... these dumb ass questions wasn't it. Why the. Why the fuck has it gotta be you interviewing me huh. No dude, No. Of course I'm not excited you motherfucker, I'm gonna go out there, and probably get hit in the fuckin' face and end up all sore. What's to be uhh, what's to be excited about. You tell me dude.

Mac darts his eyes around the room, not quite sure how to handle this kind of language on live TV, but he decides to press on anyway.

Mac Thompson:
Well, Luke, I want to apologize for bringing up that question again. But I have another one for you. Has it finally settled in, being here in CMV, being part of the biggest stage in the wrestling industry tody? Does it feel as if somewhat of a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders now that you're here, THE place to be in our industry, all your hard work, leading to this very moment tonight.

Luke looks up to the ceiling and inhales deeply before answering.

Luke Swanson:
You know it uhh, it doesn't feel too much different to me, you know. I uhh, at the end of the day it's all the same. A match is a match and uhm, yeah that's kind of how it uhh, what it's like. You know?

Mac Thompson:
Does it bother you slightly, being the big name that you are, to only be competing on Reality Wrestling for your debut? As opposed to perhaps the main show, such as Genesis, the roster you're currently signed to?

Luke Swanson:
Like fuck it bothers me, you know? I'm the uhh, I'm the biggest name on this roster, you know? I've been doing this the longest, I was put into wrestling before a lot of these guys were even born. But they've got me uuhhh, they've got me wasting my time on fuckin' nobodies on these dumb secondary shows like for what? You know.. Like what is this shit. They know I'd come in there and smack the current Alpha World Champion up right now, but what? Because I don't talk how they want me to I gotta fuckin' sit here and deal with nobodies, that does jack shit for my uhh, for my career? Fuck that you know, I'm uuhh, I'm gonna come out tonight and have to uh, put a fuckin' beating on this kid, you know. Do you think I like hurting people? No, I hate this. You gotta hate it, in order to... In order to love it. I don't want to be hurting people, you know? But I have to.. That's uh, that's just kinda how this thing goes.

Mac Thompson:
I just have one more question for you Luke, I know this was asked at the reveal press conference you did with Dave Turner. But I was wondering if you could perhaps give us a clearer answer, when you say you have to love it, to hate it, what do you mean by that mentality?

Luke rubs his eyes, and lets out a sigh of despair, evidently not wanting to be here.

Luke Swanson:
I uhm, I don't uhh. I don't really know what more you want out of that. I uhm, I felt it was pretty clear you know? It means that. That's what it means, that's uh, that's how that goes.

Mac Thompson lets out a little smirk as he looks to end the segment.

Mac Thompson:
Well Luke, it has been fun, thank you for your time, and good luck out there tonight in your CMV debut.

Luke nods his head and begins walking down the corner, murmuring words under his breath as he leaves.

Luke Swanson:
Thinking I need luck, I don't need his pity..

Mac Thompson shakes his head and smiles, before nodding to the camera signaling the end of the segment.
