Lucy Collins' CMV Fortune Overview
(This is apparently a recent article from a Blog run by big wrestling fan Lucy Collins, whose only online presence is this site and countless arguments on subreddits. Why did we find this? Who cares about this?)
Okay, okay. If everyone’s going to ask me to do predictions then I’ll do that but like I’ve never done this before. It’s not exactly what this blog is about.
And if you’re going to tell me about how blogs are a weird thing to have in 2024 SHUT UP.
Soooo CMV is doing Fortune for Octane, they’re coming back to London for the first time since Ascendance, yadda yadda yadda, branding. I don’t have to promote the show for them, I already got tickets!
Before anybody calls me a poser for going to their show even tho I shit on them pretty regularly, you just are more critical of what you love, you know? That and all the companies I REALLY like won’t come here.
Tbh the programming has been pretty nice in this new season so I’m expecting a good show. Unlike MOST of you I don’t think something is good only if my favourites win. I pride myself on being a fair and honest reviewer so that’s what I’ll be doing in this. Except I’m not reviewing. Whatever I’ll cut this part out
Let’s get into the card!
Beatriz Lótus vs. Ellie Quinn - Steel Cage match for a Women’s title shot
They’re (apparently) opening the show with one of the hottest stories they have and you can’t be mad at that. Amber Reed wasn’t bothered in coming to Britain and defending that title for once which is a shame because I really wanted to throw a drink at her. I would’ve done a triple threat here but with the build on TV lately I understand why they want a 1v1 between these two. Lótus has been on fire since the start of the year and it FEELS like CMV is really big on her, this win could be the moment to really show that the bookers believe in her.
However Ellie Quinn is in a sad situation right now. The Killjoy Club are sorta cool, but they can’t buy a win and ANOTHER loss would not do well for them. I doubt Taylor and Stevie will appear, CMV usually respects Steel Cage matches like crazy and won’t even allow escapes, which is a great move, but shenanigans could still happen. As for who I think wins… I don’t know. Both women have good cases, the fans are getting behind Beatriz (Although they don’t really look like they want to turn her face considering how she broke up Otranto. Let’s be real though did anyone like them?) and Amber/Ellie is always a match of the year candidate.
They keep building Lótus as this SUPER CRAZY person who likes throwing herself at people but if they really want to sell me on that just do a hangover off the cage. And, like, let it win a match for once?? What’s the point of having a move that never goes well if people just kick out when she hits it?
I’ll go with Ellie though. Lótus still has time. This win is a lot more needed for her especially since Lótus looks really strong when she loses. (which happens a lot lol)
Alerick debuts
Alerick is debuting on this show, I don’t know if it’s a match or not but it should be pretty interesting… I liked that promo video they showed on Shockwave. Unfortunately I don’t watch the LOWER LEAGUES (what’s ASGW?) so I’m not familiar with this guy but, hey, this is the moment for him to shine right?
Aurelius (Andre Rodgers & Leon Valente) vs. Ben Stacy & Ricky Jelani
The whole power struggle between the three main event guys on Octane led to a great match at Climb 2 Fame and the story continues here in a lesser way. I like how they’re giving a spotlight to Ben Stacy, he’s been one of my favourite midcarders for a while now. I think Aurelius should definitely win here since they’re a real tag team and probably need a big moment to legitimize the faction. It’s also England so they’ll get some of Diamond’s cheers too. With the bookers’ recent fascination for draws and count outs I think this match MIGHT get that treatment but I’d get really mad. They probably care about my opinion idk a lot of people read this
Amar’e Rivers & Joseph Santos vs. Desolation - Anarchy Rulz
Everything ARIA touches turns to gold, and while I have been SUFFERING with Isabella Almas’ absence this new tag team here is amazing. Like seriously put the title on them now. Desolation play their role of big scary guys nicely but in the ring they can’t match one of the best wrestlers in the company in Joseph Santos and a weirdly suddenly really buff man in Amar’e Rivers. Seriously did he get on T or something.
Anyways the stipulation should mask that skill gap and allow for some pretty crazy moves. I hope Amar’e does a cool dive or something. He just does that stuff man he’s amazing. I would say Santos has been floating ever since losing the Global title forever ago and this tag team brought new life to his career so I say they should get the win here and ride the momentum to a big Ascendance win. Unless Amar’e decides to search for his girlfriend? I think that’s what’s going on there
Precious Pratt vs. Quinn-Belle (c) - Rising Star Championship
Compact card here so this is one of only two title matches for the night, and I gotta be honest this is one of the best matches they could’ve put together with that women’s midcard that has been prominent in these past few months. There’s a good three or four people that I would give that belt to right now and this is just an exciting match before any of those get their experience up enough to earn a title match.
It is kinda funny that they have Quinn-Belle, someone who has been wrestling for a considerable amount of time, with the Rising Star title, but I’m glad she gets something after coming back at the rumble. Pratt has been a pretty menacing and almost unbeatable presence in the card since last season and she could definitely get the win here, especially if they want to build up more madness in AMITY. I hope they don’t break her and Amelia up though. I don’t get what’s been going on with them in these recent months but it SEEMS like that’s not the direction they’re headed which is good. We need stable women’s tag teams.
This match could be won by either woman and I wouldn’t be mad but I’ll go with Quinn-Belle because I want her to put over some of the newer folk, and her name has more value in that sense.
Joe Blade vs. Aaron Stone - Ambulance Match
The neverending feud ends here! I’m just joking I liked the Iron Man match. These two have been at each other's throats for a good while now and this is gonna be a pretty sick payoff since we’re getting a new match type and all. Hopefully it isn’t as much of a disaster as the Buried Alive match. I personally LOVED Cold Stones so I have a lot of love for Aaron and I hope he gets the rub here, as good as Blade is.
Chris Diamond vs. MORGAN (c) - Global Championship
This match is the entire reason this show is in England. Or it’s the other way around? Idk
Diamond is already a Hall of Famer in my book, his numerous title runs have proved that he is one of the best wrestlers in the whole roster and somebody who you can put in that main event scene whenever you need him. But here’s the thing, he’s already a made man. As much as I want him to win with me in the arena, it would not be the best decision.
MORGAN hasn’t lost clean since July. Everybody who faces him either just gets pinned or wins by countout. (seriously why do they like that finish so much now) Whoever ends up beating him, that’s gonna be a MASSIVE accomplishment and one that Diamond really just doesn’t need. And tbh I just love this MORGAN run so I don’t want him to drop the title so soon… He’s got a lot more left in the tank and we see that in every single match he has on Octane.
So, this is going to be amazing. I would’ve had it be the main event but maybe it’s not that just because Diamond’s losing. And he absolutely should ok? Anyways I am incredibly excited for this match and it definitely made me feel good about spending the money for the front row seats. A little bit at least.

The Unholy Alliance vs. AMITY (Toyota Camry & Tracy James) & The Ted - Hardcore War
This AMITY storyline is really insane and it just goes to show how Ted and Tracy are at their best when they interact. Sometimes they (mainly Ted) just felt kind of lost apart from each other. I’m personally a big Camry fan and seeing him in this level of a match, in the main event is amazing. If this is the blowoff before we move on to (hopefully) AMITY becoming best friends and a heartfelt The Team reunion, they should probably win. If this is the blowoff before things go to shit for AMITY, the Unholy ones should win.
Even still, think about it. On one hand you have The Unholy Alliance and they took all the titles from AMITY. And they’re facing two guys who keep losing to them and another one who does have a few wins including the Global Champion by countout for some reason. (don’t get me started on those again) AMITY PROBABLY need that win regardless of what’s about to happen with them…
I did go and watch the last few Hardcore Wars to see what this was going to be like, and judging by Ascendance XI, Homecoming 2022, it looks like the format keeps changing so I guess the bookers know less than I do about what this will be like LOL. I hope it doesn’t end up like that Renascence trios match at Christmas Clash a few years ago since it just kinda collapsed into a 3v1 really quickly with the eliminations. MORGAN/Diamond was the safer choice for main event but hey they probably have something big planned if this is going on last right??
It’s going to be a great show I hope. I’ll be live tweeting at @LucyMassiveBAEFan so to everyone who wants my exclusive opinion during it go over there. Ok bye this is long as fuck
