Savage: "[Nick] didn’t it feel like the wrestling gods were smiling down on you tonight? Well...you’re welcome."

The crowd is stunned. The sold-out audience packed into this arena have no idea how to respond to this sight they’re witnessing. Somehow, someway, the person least expected to win this match, arguably the least likely of all the men in the match to be a world champion in this company has positioned himself to be only one match away from reaching the top of the mountain.

Nick Blake falls to his knees, the money in the bank briefcase clenched tightly to his chest. This is all he ever wanted: one match, one opportunity, a single opening to show that his epic bout with Billy Weaver wasn’t the best of him. This right here...this, and everything that’s to come as a result of this star-making performance, will show the world that Nick Blake is not a man to be taken lightly.

After several minutes, it feels like things are starting to wind down, but that’s when Cole Savage’s music starts playing. On the contrary, it seems the party’s REALLY about to get started. Like earlier in the night, the “blinded” Cole Savage is escorted onto the stage, this time by his friend Miss Roxanne.

-Cole Savage-
A beautiful sight, isn’t it? A scene that could bring a tear to your eye. There he is: the man that everyone doubted, ridiculed and disrespected from the moment who walked through the doors, is now dangerously close to becoming the NEXT World Champion. And I’ll admit, Nick, back in NXT I had you pegged wrong. I didn’t think much of you, and I’m happy to say that your proved me wrong. The only thing I regret is that that if you were to cash in that guaranteed contract tomorrow, it would be against Justin Sane, who I’ve gone on the record of being a big fan of. But them’s the breaks. Justin Sane isn’t a true friend of Cole Savage. You are, Nick.

As if he could see Nick Blake’s shocked expression, Savage smirks.

-Cole Savage-
You are, and you have been from the moment to walked into my place of business all those weeks ago. You showed gumption approaching me like that. You wanted something, my services, and so you took the initiative and had the GUTS to look MarKas and Kurasuke in the eyes and challenge them to a fight that you knew you couldn’t win. Or at least, that’s what you thought, but as we all saw, that’s not how things played out, was it?

Savage’s smile grows wider.

-Cole Savage-
No, not at all! You beat their asses! Showed them what’s what! But, Nick, didn’t it all feel just a bit too easy? Didn’t it feel like the wrestling gods were smiling down on you tonight? Well...you’re welcome. YOU wanted that handicap match to be a war to push you to your limit. Luckily, by then you had me in your corner, thinking in your best interest, because I wanted that handicap match to be a warm up, the first proper step on your path to greatness. You didn’t stand a chance to win money in the bank tonight with the way things were going. Ever since you lost to Billy Weaver you...just haven’t been the same. The fire in your eyes wasn’t burning with the fury that it usually was. You always had the talent to go places, but tonight you needed confidence, a killer instinct and a head start and what better way to get all of that in the fastest way possible than beating two men at the same time?

Savage pauses to let that all sink in.

-Cole Savage-
Now look at you; poised to take this company by storm. It’ll be your face plastered everywhere. It’ll be your merchandise flying off the shelves. Before you know it, this company will realize that it can’t live without you and that’s when you’ll know that you made it. Now you’ve got a high draft pick all but guaranteed. Anyone who passes over you is passing over a future champion and bonafide star. I can say that in confidence, because now that you’ve made some new “friends” you’re finally in good hands.
