Is this the End?(ft. Anthony Brown)

Elijah Stewart has his hands folded and his expression compliments a frustrated attitude. As the screen grows wider, Elijah is in an interview. Across from him isn’t Lisa Evans or Mac Thompson. It’s Anthony Brown. Anthony is not in usual attire. His eyes are covered with his bifocals and a fluffy scarf wraps around his neck loosely. With his legs crossed over the other, he begins to warm up Elijah in this rare one on one interview for the CMV Network.

Good Evening CMV Universe, I am your assessor for this short period. As you can see sitting opposite to me, a former CMV-

Elijah Stewart
Yo, Ant, that’s enough already man. Let’s just get this thing going.

Anthony Brown
Mmm, seems like someone came here ready. So Elijah, you’ve held two belts in CMV so far in your career. Do you prefer the tag division opposed to the loner path?

Elijah
Well, there’s no such thing as a boring tag team match in my opinion. You always have fun working beside someone else. Playing off of each other’s style and the chemistry between you and a partner is an unmatched type of joy. I can say the better days have been when I was able to work with someone else.

Anthony
What is your favorite match you’ve had so far?

Elijah
You know Anthony, I appreciate the interview. But I can’t have you holding back on the questions. It just doesn’t feel right.

Anthony
Sorry man. If you wish… Elijah you held the Alpha World Championship for one month, and lost it on your first defense. That obviously can’t be a warm feeling.

Elijah
It definitely isn’t. It felt like I lost it just as fast as I earned it. You can never take breaks in CMV. There was no leisure, and I never wish for that, but things happen so fast nowadays. You never have enough time to take these things in fully.

Anthony
How are you feeling right now about the whole Kliq situation?

Elijah
The first word that comes to mind is unimpressed. They’ve done one thing. They’ve beaten me though. I’m not impressed because they didn’t finish the drop nor did they even have enough power to take me out as fast as the Smiley and Tim. They isolated me. They had a plan. But when the algorithm is inside out for Luger in that fatal-4-way, he’ll be the one isolated. He can't fight when the tides turn. If Kliq can prove to be anything more than a three man magic trick, I’ll give them their credit.

Anthony Brown
What are your thoughts going into this title match? This could be your last attempt at recapturing that Alpha World Title.

Elijah
You’re right, 100%. This match can possibly be the last real shot I have at the belt. That climb to the top was only temporary. I sat at the top and looked back down to get my foot pulled from under me. I’ve only defended my title in a Clean Slate match and gotten my rematch in a fatal-4-way. It’s starting to seem impossible to even see the belt close to me anymore. My mind tells me, “You can do it. You’ve got this.” But the fans soon will be telling me the opposite. They won’t be satisfied by mediocrity… And neither will I.

Elijah looks into the hard camera. He dusts off any lint from his T-shirt and wipes his face with his hand.

Elijah
Guys, Stewies… You’ve watched me grow and grow over the past year. My ups and downs have been grand. My rise and fall has been probably the greatest journey that has ever introduced itself to me. I want to make one promise that I can keep. If I fail at Exodus, it will be the end of Elijah Stewart.

Anthony Brown gasps in his chair and his eyes almost pop out of his head.

Elijah
Losing to Jaquan Shay, Jay Davis, Pierre Thompson, Jaxon Jordan, Mike Grizzly, 10|El, and so on has been building slowly. Losing to these “stars” who amount to nothing but being names on a website that find themselves dwindling in success on a regular just gets to you after a while. Maybe I’m not as good as I’ve trained to be. If that’s so, just like them, I don’t belong on this roster. Thank you Anthony, but I think this interview is over.

While Elijah walks off, Anthony Brown sits shocked and unbridled. The bombshell he drops is too huge to understand immediately.
