Championship Hall

Championship Hall Empty Championship Hall

Post by Shay UA Thu Feb 06, 2020 3:29 am

I am a World Champion.

The camera comes in to International Champion Shay Hoxton resting in his home, sitting on his bed. With white walls and large windows throughout, the gambler stares out with only one topic on mind.

Andrew Briggs.

“The Undisputed”. Such a stupid name, and a favorite for rookies. A statement that claims nobody can question your skill, your power, your intensity. To be Undisputed is a true title to have, but one that falls flat instantly after you’ve shown yourself to be nothing special.

Andrew Briggs is Undisputed. Andrew Briggs is special. Holding CMV’s most prestigious title for nearly a whole season, losing only three matches all year. That is skill that truly can’t be questioned.

That is skill Shay Hoxton has to face.

The gambler gets off of his bed and takes a deep breath.

I am a World Champion.

He exits the bedroom, walking past his living room, and into a door on the side. On it is a gold plate: “Championship Hall”. As we enter the room, we see the walls lined with gold. Both replicas and real, multiple titles from multiple companies and multiple divisions. Shay scoffs, and turns towards the camera.

You know, showing off your gold from other companies is a huge taboo, and for good reason. But Andrew Briggs, amigo, I think the CMV Universe has forgotten why I’m here. We all know who you are: the CMV veteran, the guy who never won the World Championship, until you did. Then you didn’t let it go. Grandslam Champion, undefeated for six months, absolutely untouchable for years, you even kicked Matt Devious’s ass twice in the same night, and that man has an ass of steel.

We all know who you are. Maybe it’s about time I show you who I am.

Shay walks over to the main wall, where the hordes of gold are all hanging, one title encased above the rest. He touches the first: a silver title covered in ruby plated blood.

The NGCW Extreme Championship.

The camera cuts to a scene from 2015. We see a young Shay Hoxton locked inside the Hell in a Cell with a masked horror themed individual. Hoxton is in the corner as the man hits the defenseless kid in the gut with a sledgehammer. As Shay begins to fall, the man grabs him and whips him into the ropes. Sledgehammer still in hand, he looks to not only end the match, but Hoxton’s entire career. Extremely unjustified action, all Hoxton did was desecrate and rob a corpse. As the man begins to swing the sledgehammer however, Hoxton ducks down and charges towards him. He slides past the man, grabbing his leg and rolling him up in a school boy.

1… 2… 3!

Shay Hoxton has done it! Shay Hoxton has won his first ever championship!

The ex-champion quickly stands up, sledgehammer still in hand as the referee opens the cell door, hands Hoxton the Extreme Championship, and quickly runs out. The match is over, but the bloodbath has only just begun…

Ahh… the Hell in a Cell has always been my favorite match type…

He moves forward, placing his hand on another title, a circular one with a floral outline.

The WWC Tag Team Championship.

We cut to a match from 2016. Four men are brawling, on one side, the champions, two gangsters in street clothes. On the other, the men in pink, The Superior Talent Division: Shay Hoxton and Noah Black. Black hits a massive uppercut, knocking the smaller of the two gangsters out of the ring. The giant of the group tries to respond with a hook to Hoxton, evening the odds between the two teams. Instead, Hoxton ducks the punch and grabs the giant from behind. He hooks the leg, bringing the big man up for a gigantic 21! On the way down, Noah Black jumps up, delivering a tombstone on top of the neck spike the 21 typically gives. Both men cover the giant.

1-2-3 for the STD! The Superior Talent Division are your new Tag Team Champions! Who can possibly beat two former Heavyweight Champions? This may be the most dominant team in professional wrestling history!

Shay now reaches for a golden rectangular championship, one with maple leaves on the side.

The IWE Heavyweight Championship.

We see two men in the ring, one a masked cowboy, and the other, a familiar face. The cowboy takes quite an assault, dropping down to one knee.

Jason Spade puts the opposition down! All he needs to do is finish off Dallas Chains, and the vacant IWE Championship is as good as his! It’s time for Jason Two Belts, ladies and gentlemen!

As Dallas Chains looks up at the heartless heel, Jason Spade puts a finger gun right to his skull, signalling an end.

Oh no! It looks like The Outlaw is preparing for that devastating Lawbreaker of his! Ever since he broke Shay Hoxton’s kneecap with a bat, he’s been finishing off opponents left and right with this brutal knee! Laser focused as always, it’s the end for Chains!

Spade taps his knee and hits the ropes. Dallas grabs his own face, undoubtedly preparing for impact.

No. He tears off his mask instead. The deadly focus of Jason Spade breaks, and he jumps back mid run in shock.

No! Could it be?! Dallas Chains has been Shay Hoxton this whole time?!

Spade tries to recover, running towards Hoxton once more, but without the extra momentum he’s stopped with a shot to the groin! In defiance, Hoxton lands a knee straight to Spade’s face, then another. Now with a metal plate installed, Hoxton’s knee is lethal. Spade stumbles into the rope, and on the rebound, Hoxton grabs him and spikes him down with a 21. The tournament is over, a new IWE Champion has been crowned, and his name is Shay Hoxton.

Next on the wall

The WWC Heavyweight Championship.

Two men stand in the ring, both with World Championships on the shoulder. In one corner, the IWE Champion Shay Hoxton. In the other corner, WWC Champion Jason Spade. Two companies, two titles, two nemesi out for blood.

As the referee takes both titles and raises them into the air, The Gambler and The Outlaw meet face to face, this time for real.

Shay begins to smirk. A history of domination, title after title after title. The memories all flood back.

The IWE Tag Team Championship, where he donned the Dallas Chains mask once more, pulling twin magic and walking out Champion.

The NGCW Twitch Championship, where he beat beat a whole tournament’s worth of men.

The CMV Anarchy Championship, where he took out Tyson Cage by choking him out - a fair decision by Referee Murphy.

The CMV International Championship, where he chokeslammed Dante Tatum back into NGW.

Not just Championships, but so much more. Shay looks over to a case holding multiple awards and trophies.

NGCW Breakout Star of the Year - NGCW Rivalry of the Year - NGCW 2nd Annual Brawl Series Winner - NGCW 3rd Annual Brawl Series Winner - CMV Breakout Star of the Year 2018 - CMV Promo of the Year 2019.

Shay begins to laugh, basking in all his former glories, hitting him with memory after memory of him being on top. As he stops, one title stares back at him. His first ever World Championship.

The NGCW Championship.

"Shay Hoxton, the Last Ever NGCW Champion."

Shay stares at it, then stares down at the proper International Championship on his shoulder.

Shay Hoxton… Last Ever…

He turns and walks out of Championship Hall. A smirk on his face, he shuts the door.

Memories are great, but the present is always better. This week at Point Break, I’m facing Andrew Briggs. I’m facing someone who’s truly earned the name, “The Undisputed.” Well Briggs, let me tell you this, shark to shark.

So have I.

See you Point Break, the Champ will be ready.
