Chief of Staff Jason Spade sits in his official Cabinet office, chair turned toward the window behind the desk, eyes on the dark skyline. His fingers are interlocked, and the Chief of Staff is clearly deep in thought.

"We live in interesting times. Not just for our company, but for our industry as a whole. Chris Proudfoot, a man I never thought I'd ever see again, is the Global Champion. Shay Hoxton, a man who's career has paralleled mine and who's been almost everywhere I have may soon be hanging up his boots for the last time. Other relics of my past- Suraci, Hunter Quinn- are all going their own ways in life... And here I am, Jason Spade, eyes on the horizon... Eyes on the CMV Undisputed Championship.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Am I cursed? Will I always be the hunter, not the hunted? Will I fight and bleed forever, chasing the perpetual holy grail that's just out of reach?"

Spade is quiet for a moment, a long while, before standing and tossing his chair across the room.

"You're goddamn right I will! Because I live for the hunt, and I live for the fight! Every cut, every bruise, every broken bone is a reminder that I am still alive, and every day as I watch every one of your faces come and go and come again, I remain constant. I am here- right where I want to be, in the shit and the mud- and right where I always will be until I take my final breath.

Shay Hoxton will fade away, Chris Proudfoot will fade away, Hunter Quinn will fade away, yes, even Suraci will fade away... But I will not.

Pierre Thompson... You don't live for the fight like I do. You don't feel this the way I do. I am the best professional wrestler on God's green Earth, not because I train harder, not because those disgusting, fickle 'fans' pretend to love me more than they pretend to love you, but because the fire that burns inside me incinerates every single son of a bitch who steps up to the plate. You're up to bat, so you better bring your sunscreen and your very best, because anything less and you won't stand a chance.

Holding that championship- that I bled for- signifies that you're the best now. Are you, or did you get lucky? We'll see at Absolution.
