Three days before Absolution

Josh Wolf sat across the table holding two other individuals. One, his long time friend Amy Winters and the other his youngest brother James. Wolf was looking down at his meal for a few moments, thinking to himself as he took a bite of the Beef Wellington.

Josh Wolf

You've gotta admit, Kliq is a great gig... We never got these kinds of luxuries for cheap. We'd never have these if Luger wasn't kind enough to pay.

He took another bite, before reaching out for a glass of bourbon across the table. Winters and James both looked towards each other with a frown, before Amy finally spoke up.

Amy Winters

I understand you're still struggling, Josh-

Josh Wolf

Struggling? I'm doing amazing... Kliq's been great.

He was clearly being dismissive, digging back into the meal as James reached for his wine glass.

James Wolf

Josh, I know you're still mourning after Dad passed... But you don't have to hide it... Could you hear us out for a moment?

Josh sighed, motioning the waiter for another glass of bourbon. He wiped his mouth gently.

Josh Wolf

Listen, I am a bit worried about how extreme they're getting... But it's okay. Sure there's been some bad things, but I've kept my hands clean. They just know I'm the best fighter in the company. I fight the battles and don't ask questions.

I'm their best asset.

James Wolf

It's Bob Luger. He will turn on you, bro.

Josh Wolf

Hasn't turned since I joined him. And all those things with Guri and the others were just spring cleaning. We were just getting too big too quickly, like what happened last time.

Winters shook her head, this was going nowhere.

Amy Winters

There's something else James wanted to talk with you about...

James Wolf

Do we have to now?

Amy Winters

Yes. We do.

James Wolf

... Can it just be between me and him?

Amy nodded and stood, slowly walking off to the restroom. Wolf looked at his brother, brow raised and confused.

James Wolf

This is going to be hard to say but... Ever since Dad died I've been hearing... a voice.

Josh's face went pale.

Josh Wolf

Fenrir...

James Wolf

I-I've managed to keep my control over him. But no medication seems to work.

Josh Wolf

You don't get rid of him with medicine. He's not an illness, he's a part of us.

James Wolf

But I don't want to be a part of him.

Josh Wolf

You won't, the best way to stop him is to not fall into your anger. The angrier you get, the more control he has.

Once you first experience that power? It becomes addictive. It's like a drug. So you have to keep him out at all times.

One slip up and your his puppet.

James Wolf

I'm scared, Josh.

Josh Wolf
