The Ted is the CMV Global Champion.

Ted’s body collapses away from the downed Joseph Santos. He falls to the ground as the crowd lights up in cheers. His brain fails to register what has happened. A brief window of opportunity. A moment of carelessness on the part of such a brave and quick thinking man. It allowed Ted to capitalize. To do what he does best. Santos gave The Ted an opening. An opening which made Ted everything he has ever wanted to be, everything he had to be- A world champion.

The referee lays the title over Ted’s body. The grueling triple threat match he’s just been through should stop our champion from getting up and properly celebrating. But this isn't an ordinary day. Look what he’s being called: Champion. The Ted gets to his feet. Off the energy of the fans. Off his own emotions, at this point. This match isn’t the only thing that got us here. A personal faceoff. A moment of triumph. A crushing, brutal loss. A declaration of war. That’s just the last 3 months. It’s mind numbing how many times this has been stated, but Ted has gone through so much. A mountain constantly being climbed. A quest to reach a top, a quest always stopped by a sliding rock. But, at least for tonight, he’s at the peak.

Ted looks down at the Global Championship which he holds in his hands. He has spent a lot of time chasing it. All the failed attempts at glory, they’re nothing in his mind anymore. That’s a statement that was said when he won the Right of Passage Championship. That was a premature celebration. This is a moment ten times the size of that. The championship Ted holds in his hands is a symbol of glory. Something iconic. Something that puts you in the history books. At one point in his career, Ted wasn’t taken seriously. No one imagined this moment would’ve happened when a guy in sunglasses showed up talking about “beating asses”. It didn’t take long for him to break through the ceiling of being called a joke. Still, the scene we see right now? Ted reaching the ranks of some of the greatest names in CMV history? Hard to predict. There were great expectations for him following his rapid championship win at CyberSlam. Some people saw this happening. But every time The Ted came close to heights like these, he wouldn’t find success. Did he even have it in him to become historical? Now we know.

Streamers are thrown over the ropes. Confetti falls from the ceiling. The Ted goes up on the corner and showcases the championship. The product of his hard work. The symbol of success. The Ted lets the adoring public soak in this moment, as he does the same. He gets down, back into the ring, and sees Joseph Santos laying there. A man he respects. A man who was at such heights just a month ago. And he went through a lot to get there too. Santos had to fail tonight, for Ted to succeed. A part of the champion feels bad for that. Knowing all that motivated Santos to capture the Global Championship, all that motivated him to even fight for it again here tonight. But it had to be done.

The Agent is laid out on the outside. Ted passes him as he goes to leave through the ramp. It’s funny how every time these two are in the same room, their story gets told once again. Agent and Ted are simply intrinsic to one another. That’s how things are now. A small part of The Champion looks down at Agent and feels guilty. This monster is Ted’s fault, after all. But feeling that way won’t change anything, will it? Action will. And, tonight, The Ted took action. He stopped The Company’s plans, even if momentarily. He also managed to take his career to the next level. And with all they’ve been through over the past year, starting as friends and ending as foes, it’s only fair that The Agent was there tonight for this moment.

Our Global Champion takes a final look at the crowd as he reaches the top of the ramp. Something he has done after all the big moments in his career. These people, more than anyone, have seen the full journey Ted has been through. These people were behind him from the beginning. He only won the United States Championship after THEY voted him into the match against Jacob Ziegler. Tonight serves as an achievement for Ted, of course it does, but it is also a thank you to all those people. Walking into the biggest match of his life, The Ted did this for them. To be the hero they’ve always sung the praises of. To fight for the promotion they support so vehemently. That’s why he was so determined going into this match- it wasn’t just the fact a world championship was on the line. Ted feels fulfilled, but he’s not satisfied. Tonight is a landmark moment for him personally, but it’s not the end of everything. The Company is growing rapidly. They won’t stop after tonight’s roadblock. Ted has vowed to fight back against them until he is down below the dirt. And the championship he holds right now does not change a single thing. There is still more to do. A brief moment of peace and celebration is more than deserved, but he can’t let this go to his head. The Global Champion raises the title up in the air before stepping out back. The Global Champion.
