Just a fourm for gimmick ideas.
I might want to try to make another character soon, but I need some gimmick ideas, just list some ideas that you think that would work well, accepting all ideas (but uhh, not really looking for a humor gimmick) but yeah, the more info you give about the gimmick the better it is and I might even choose it.

Easy gimmick. A guy who likes wrestling. Trained to be a wrestler. Then he became the best of all time.Master Ogon wrote:I might want to try to make another character soon, but I need some gimmick ideas, just list some ideas that you think that would work well, accepting all ideas (but uhh, not really looking for a humor gimmick) but yeah, the more info you give about the gimmick the better it is and I might even choose it.

Re: Just a fourm for gimmick ideas.
Whoa, tough crowd. I got a few:
A wrestler who thinks he is in the WWF 80's. He's always looking for Mean Gene to interview him, he's cutting promos on Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant. Could set up a feud with Bob Luger to defend his dad's honour, since you could look to fight Lex but clearly he isn't in wrestling shape.
You could have an ultra vain gimmick, someone who is in love with himself and takes himself and the people around him way too seriously. By doing this, he could also constantly offend
people without him knowing it.
A cruiser-weight who desperately wants to be a heavyweight. Has the attitude of a big, muscular guy, but when it comes down to do it, he was the durability of a sack of straw and the strength of a 12 year old. He could attempt to power slam his heavyweight opponents every match, but will fail every single time. (Set his strength to 1 or something). He can gradually get stronger and in the future will be able to finally power slam the heavyweights, then the character can be molded into an OP giant killer.
A wrestler with really low self confidence. Came from nothing, looking to make himself into something, but doesn't have the guts. If your guy wins, you could cut a promo on how he won by fluke, or how his opponent let him win, and whenever someone talked trash on him, your guy could just sorta agree with it. A glass half empty kinda guy.
A monster heel (yeah I know, very generic) but with a twist of being an actual prisoner who works for CMV as part of a "special community service" program, since the word "community" is highly associated with CMV. Have police escort him to buildings in your promos, and have him section part of the locker room to himself in storyline to keep your guy in line.
A authoritarian hit-man, who leaves a symbol on their victim's body to tick them off the list. Has an actual list of targets set by a heel manager or higher power.
Not really a gimmick so to say, but you could make your guy a heel and team with a face and feud on and off with them, occasionally turning on them, then teaming with them weeks later. Like Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have been doing for years, but more of a Stockholm Syndrome effect added, where the heel bullies the face back into working with them. Then there could be a breakout moment for the face where he finally snaps out of the shackles set by the heel and they have one big blowoff match. Your guy could be the face or heel in the situation, you'd just need a CAW of the opposite status to work with.
Hope this helps. Welcome to CMV, by the way.

Maybe try talking to a few guys on here for veteran advice. RiftedEnergy, Mr. Dashing, Randy Borton, Miztacular and Echo6Snowman are the most tenured and active guys around here, these will probably be your safest bets about which direction to head in next. Hell, PM me if you want to, I've been here for a bit myself.

Punk rookie gimmick- have them so cocky that the locker room will try anything to shut him up or kick him out of the locker room. In his promos he target the vetrans and Legends of the business and when the vets retaliate he makes it look like he takes what they say to heart but at the first opportunity he will attack. If he loses a match to a vetran he always find a reason to explain the lost, favorite reason is that GM paid him to throw the match. But when he wins he makes it seem like he just won the Undisputed title even if he barely won. (like when Kurt angle won the European championship)
Down the line when he becomes the veteran he begins target the new guys and potential gets a pupil that acted like him target the vets. That could lead to a betrayal and depending on the timing could be a ascendance match.

Outsider Gimmick - Quite personality. Shows his work in the Ring. Preferrably strong style but your CAW. When tried to be interviewed doesn't talk just smirks at the camera walks off. Stays to himself. Then when he finally speaks he introduces his "Paul Heyman" if you will. And the manager does the talking while He does the work.
Possiblly have the manager as a cocky motherfucker and if you have the outsider talk as heavy accented get to the point kinda guy.
