#1 - Declining

An old and worn down gym. Toxic air. Walls engulfed in mold. One ring. one guy. One TV. A taping of a CMV episode from years back. Just white noise. No sound. No noise. No nothing. The gym is dimly lit, and patches of dust paint the concrete floor. Faint crickets in the distance brings this gothic location back to reality, no longer saturated in silence. Broken and hanging by a thread, a PA box becomes active.

PA System:

You've been gone a while.

The voice that was projected was hoarse. Every word of the man's sentence echoed a cold, brutal tone directly aimed at the center of the ring. Not a question. Not a statement. Just.....a sentence. A sense of firmness to the words, dancing near anger.

???:

Yeah. It has been a while.

The response lacked emotion, the expression sucked out of the individual. The reply was almost a closing statement of sorts, like he just wanted to be done with the conversation. The man behind the PA system pressed the issue.

PA System:

Why is that?

A large pause leaves the room in a state of and awkward and thought-provoking presence between the two men. The tension was pulsating, an aura that choked out any air filling the man's lungs. An untangible that had to force an answer.

???:

I am declining.

PA System:

Tell me more.

The scene blacks out.
