Wear and Tear

After his recent match on Shockwave, Jason Spade is being tended to in the trainer's room.

"I'll be honest, Jason; you're pretty banged up. I can clear you for in-ring action, but your injuries are starting to add up and I would seriously recommend you take some time off."

Spade nods silently. The trainer finishes his exam and tells Spade he's free to go before exiting the room. Spade stands up and sighs, grabbing his t-shirt and pulling it on over his head before the door to the trainer's room re-opens and Rhys Matthews walks in.

"Tough night at the office, huh, Jason? You know, you don't look so good. You look a little tired, little banged up... A little old."

Spade scoffs.

"Yeah, I'm 36. Practically one foot in the grave."

The sarcasm in Spade's voice is dripping with irritation.

"What do you want, Rhys?"

"To talk business. Let's face it, Spade, you're not what you used to be. 'Washed up' would be putting it generously. MORGAN crushed you like an empty beer can... So, why don't you run with me and Ugbjorn? We scratch your back, you scratch ours, maybe we add a couple more years onto your career. Because, let's face it... It doesn't take a doctor to see that you're running out of gas. What do you say?"

Rhys smiles smugly and offers Spade his hand. Spade looks at it indignantly before glaring up at Rhys.

"Let me tell you something, pal; I don't play well with others, and I have more than enough 'gas' left to whoop your ass."

Spade smacks Rhys's hand away.

"Let's step into the ring; when I'm done beating you from pillar to post, you can go home and think about just how badly this 'washed up' fighter clowned on you in front of the whole world."

Spade shoves past Rhys and makes his way out of the room, leaving Rhys to glower at his back.
