Bread, Sausages, & Gin

Shanaz sits at a table. There is no table cloth. Upon the table lies a loaf of French bread, a plate of uncooked sausages, and a large bottle of gin. Shanaz looks different from the last time we have seen him. He is weathered. He is tired. He is old. Shanaz looks up and speaks.

Shit

Shanaz slowly begins to eat the bread. He slowly eats all of the sausages. He pours a large glass of gin and finishes it in one go. This takes minutes. There is only the sound of his chewing, and gulping, and heavy breathing

Shanaz hungry. Shanaz thirsty. Will pray for Shanaz? Forgive Shanaz for eating three little pigs pigs pigs? No more sausage, no more bread, no more teddy bear in Shanaz bed.

Shanaz pours and drinks more gin. He listens. Silence. He listens. Silence. It rains.
