The Weight of Sin: Expectation

Jason Spade begins to come to. He struggles to remember what happened... Did he win? First he was fighting Toxiera, then another man he didn't recognize- the monster that dwarfed Slate at Ascendance- then... Subject: ZERO? But that can't be right, ZERO's been gone for months... Another ghost from Jason Spade's tortured past.

If that was a ghost- a hallucination- then surely Spade was imagining this as well. Slung over Tailcoat Val's shoulder like a sack of potatoes, being carried who knows where? No, wait... He was being carried by Tailcoat Val! Spade springs to life, breaking free from her grip, He turns toward her but his vision turns green and his eyes light up in pain; a blast of poison mist, incapacitating him! Spade yells out, falling to the floor. In his daze he hears a noise, a door opening, and a new voice.

"What the hell is going on out he-- huh?!"

Madison Wright stands in front of her office door, staring at the source of the commotion; Jason Spade writing on the floor and Tailcoat Val standing over him, looking over at Madison Wright. Madison's face goes pale and she covers her mouth in surprise, clearly intimidated by the masked woman. Val stares at Wright, her mask unmoving and unblinking. Val stares menacingly, expectantly, but Madison simply stares at Val like a deer in the headlights. Finally, Val breaks the silence.

"You're welcome."

And with that, Val walks away. Madison watches her go, before approaching Spade, who continues to writhe on the floor as the scene fades to black.
