Ellie Quinn Sitdown Interview

The following interview was recorded before the events of Octane, where Ellie Quinn was mysteriously replaced by Gianna di Natale.

[INTERVIEWER]
We are just less than 48 hours away from Absolution as we travel the road to Ascendance! Joining me now is the woman who will be challenging for the Women's World Championship, "The Starchaser" Ellie Quinn!

The camera pans around the interviewer, revealing Ellie Quinn seated in the chair across from the interviewer, her jacket draped over her left arm.

[INTERVIEWER]
Ellie, we can't help but talk about the past month or so and how it's gone for you. After such a torrid start, you wound up losing two straight after getting past Joy Justice...and now you're the #1 Contender for the Women's World Championship, held by your friend, Kio. Can you tell me what this past month has been like for you?

Uh...yeah, you pretty much said it for me. After I finally got Joy Justice off my back at Point Break, I wound up dropping two matches to Hakiko and Isabella Almas. They proved they were the better women on that night...but then in that triple threat, I proved that I was the better woman. Then I won an elimination fatal four way match by tapping out one current champion, a submission specialist no less, and now I've got a guaranteed shot at another champion on pay-per-view. It's uh...pretty exhilarating, to say the least.

My CMV career has definitely been a wild ride so far, huh? Gianna, Kio and myself make our debuts at the same time, we beat three established veterans, and now one of us is champion, and the other two are vying for championships at Absolution. Feels kinda' like fate, you know? We stepped right up to the gatekeepers, we kicked the gates open and now we're making our mark on CMV history, one match at a time. The three of us? We've proved that our early success wasn't just a fluke, we proved that "the three rookies" weren't just hype, we're all gamechangers in our own way.

[INTERVIEWER]
What's it like in that locker room right now, with all these veterans and established names seeing the three of you basically taking the women's division over from the jump?

Honestly, if those women want to sit there and still play gatekeeper after the things that the three of us have accomplished? Then that's on them for letting our success get to their heads. People like Joy Justice, like Isabella Almas, they can give me all the dirty looks and all the stinkeyes they want in catering while I'm out there on one of CMV's biggest stages.

Am I being cocky about that? Yeah, maybe. But I think I've earned the chance to toot my own horn a time or two, just like I earned my title shot at Absolution. Just like I earned four straight wins over Joy Justice. Just like I earned my victory over Isabella and Hakiko. Just like I earned every single thing I've accomplished here in CMV so far. I've earned my place in that locker room, and there's not a damn thing any woman in that locker room can say to show me or anyone else otherwise.

Which...brings me to Absolution. I'm not going to sit here and act like Kio isn't my friend. I'm not going to sit here and say that this match isn't going to be the toughest match of my career. But I'm also not going to sit here and sugarcoat things. Do I want the Women's World Championship? Duh, every woman on this roster wants the Women's World Championship. Whether it's one of my best friends holding that title or one of my mortal enemies, it doesn't really mean a damn thing. At the end of the day? It's all about who holds that title over their shoulder, who has that title wrapped around their waist, who can raise it above their head.

The woman who holds that title? That title shows everyone around the world that they're the crown jewel of women's wrestling. A lot of talented women have held that championship in CMV's rich history, but I'm going to Absolution to add my name to that list...the very top of that list. And if I have to go through one of my friends to do it? Then so be it. And Kio knows that.

[INTERVIEWER]
Well, that sounds a bit harsh, doesn't it? I mean...Kio is one of your friends.

[ELLIE QUINN]
I'm not coming to Absolution as Kio's friend. I'm coming to Absolution to take her title. Friendships get thrown completely to the wayside when it comes to championships. Does that sound a little cold? A little harsh? Yeah, maybe, but that's just the way it is...it's the way it has to be in this line of work. If you're not willing to sacrifice everything to be champion? Then you don't deserve to be here. Our match at Absolution won't be about two friends trying to put on a classic match.

At the end of the day, win or lose, I'll still consider Kio my friend. But this match? This isn't about our friendship. This is about proving to Kio, and to everyone in that locker room that I'm the best female wrestler on the planet right now, and that nobody...nobody is on my level. I know Kio will push me to my limit, but I've proven so far that I always perform under pressure. And I'm going to do it again at Absolution when I raise that title over my head and the ring announcer says: "And new Women's World Champion: Ellie...Quinn."
